Our work is not just about the object. It is very much about the culture, community, creativity and well being.
As such, our extensive skills and services are engaged at varying stages of projects and commissions.

WORKING WITH COMMUNITY
‘Connecting with the past, responding to the present to create a beautiful future for all’
3D placemaking and public art connects Community with projects by nature of the works. Yet one of the most important parts of our design process of any Public Artwork is the Community within which it will be.
In this role with mili mili work hand in hand with Community and clients. We don’t consult, we collaborate – we listen, yarn, walk, workshop/co-create, and integrate Continuing Custodians’ stories into the experience of place.
We are then able to share learnings with other stakeholders and clients to ensure sensitivity, inclusion of Community and ithe integration of indigenous wisdom into the project.
When working to develop strategies and artwork project briefs, we ensure that multiple perspectives, community-specific local knowledge is included in any response.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
It all begins with a concept in response to a brief, then informed and embedded with ideas of the Community and Country. Material investigation, exploration and prototyping allows for the development of materials and product with an artistic approach.
Furniture, luminaire design, apparel and building products can result from an art brief which can be stand alone products or integrated into a project.
